Gala Theatre shows interests in developing C&K Motel

Tivoli North Business Association introduced owners of C&K Motel and Gala Theatre.  Now, Gala Theatre has expressed interest in developing the C&K Motel to suit their needs of a multi-use facility: housing for artists and performers, office space for Gala and other non-profits, a multi-purpose use for rehearsals, meetings, prop making, and a youth program.

Take a tour of the C&K Motel, currently for sale.  If you were in charge of buying the C&K Motel and developing it into something else, what would you do?  How would you design it?  What would be its use?  How would it affect the commercial corridor and surrounding neighborhood?  Watch the tour and share your ideas.

14th Street closes temporarily: MPD car strikes pedestrian on 14th & Perry Place, NW

14th & Ogden Park Development Meeting, Monday, April 19th, 6pm

Provide feedback to Department of Parks and Recreation on the latest design of 14th and Ogden Park.  The current design needs your input.  The location may take place in Hubbard Place, 3500 14th  Street, NW.  Please confirm closer to the date.

Mayor Fenty Walk-through, Wednesday, April 7th, 9.30am

On Wednesday April 7^th, Councilmember Bowser and Mayor Fenty will conduct a follow up walk through on 14^th Street.  This will once again be with the DC agencies and interested residents and businesses to look at the improvements from the walk through November 19^th and to listen to any new issues.

We will begin at Carolina’s at 3700 14^th Street and walk north.

Tivoli North Business Association and Columbia Heights Day Initiative in partnership with other organizations and neighborhood groups invite you to participate.  The weather is expected to be sunny and up to 85 degrees.  Call for volunteers 9-11am and 4-6pm.
